IHS Case Study - 01

Analysis

Sense of direction and purpose

The writer is emotional, mostly displays a sense of discipline and follows the rules and regulations. The writer knows that she can do good work. It matters to her that her work and efforts are appreciated.

Sometimes the writer is unable to prioritise her activities, confusion prevails but she is most of the times capable of thinking clearly and working efficiently and she is willing to adapt to achieve her goals. Her judgements are at times practical and she enjoys learning new things. The width of ‘e’ shows the writer the need to include other people in her world.

Feelings and reaction to other people

The writer basically likes other people and also seek others approval. The writer is strongly impacted by feedback from others. Appreciation from others matters a lot to the writer.

General attitudes and motivation

The writer needs space in her personal life. Also, a lot of attention from others is necessary for her. She is capable of good planning but gets confused in her execution. There are times when the actions do not happen due to challenges or difficulties faced. The writer has the capability to turn her knowledge and intelligence towards the creation of something useful. The writer wants to live a balanced lifestyle but gets bogged down by her inability to prioritise. She puts in a lot of efforts for achieving her goals.

Inner feelings and reactions

The writer has a genuine warmth and she is quite generous. She is very conscious of herself. Also, she is very susceptible to imaginary hurts and worries about possible problems.

The writer’s self-image

She cares about the effects of what she does. Both, her ability to function and her self-image are vulnerable to be hurt. The writer shows a desire to be nurtured and cared for. She prefers to avoid taking risks and play it safe.

Summary

The writer is simple and an emotional person, capable of caring for others and also seeking their approval. She is intelligent and wants to create an identity for self but the sensitivity of criticism and resulting low confidence creates anxiety and inner frustration.

It would help if the writer can develop greater confidence, become self-sufficient this would allow the writer to effectively use her skills and talent and be less personally affected.
After Grapho-therapy

After five months of Grapho-therapy, there is a significant change in the handwriting of the writer. The slant has straightened. The 'g', 'f','t', and many others have undergone a complete makeover.

Qualitatively, there has been a noticeable change in the way of being of this writer who just gave her 10th STD exam.

  • The writer has developed greater confidence and has become self-sufficient. She can now look at different situations objectively and can avoid getting emotionally involved.
  • She now has means to get better clarity about what she wants to do. She can plan and execute better.
  • The writer is in much better control of her emotions and her “reactions” have reduced.
  • She doesn’t feel self-conscious anymore and doesn’t feel the need to get attention of others.
  • There is still some level of 'sensitivity to criticism' from other people. However, it will fade away with more Grapho-therapy.
